Gail Jang, D.D.S.

Dentist

I LOVE my job! What could be better? I get to see wonderful people regularly and help them to be healthy, comfortable, and confident. Being a dentist is never boring because dentistry is always advancing, the result of research and scientific discovery.

My hometown is in Los Angeles County. Attending the University of Southern California, I was awarded membership to Phi Beta Kappa. There at USC I developed an interest in helping urban kids, cinema as an art form, and dentistry. The move to San Francisco to attend dental school at the University of the Pacific was a shock to my system. The chilly summers and the urban traffic were tough at first. But the natural beauty of the Bay Area won me over!

I have been practicing dentistry in San Francisco for over 30 years. Throughout this time, I have volunteered in communities in San Francisco and the East Bay, performing dental screenings and teaching kids how to care for their teeth. I also spent some time teaching at the UCSF School of Dentistry and serving on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Dental Society.

Dr. Andrew grew up in a family of dentists (there are 25 dentists in the family and counting!), so he swore off dentistry and decided to be an engineer. What drew him back into dentistry was the epiphany that he could use his skills as an engineer to solve the technical problems that dentists face every day.

Dr. Andrew uses every dental appointment as an opportunity to partner with patients to improve their personal oral health, but also a chance to grow as a research with the goal of revolutionizing the way oral health is achieved.

While not at work, Dr. Andrew loves exploring the outdoors (hiking, biking, skiing), traveling the world, playing board games, and watching his baby girl grow up.

Jennifer Hom, D.M.D.

Dr. Jennifer Hom is thrilled to be joining Jang Family Dentistry. She has been a patient of Dr. Gail’s for as long as she can remember and is honored to have the opportunity to practice alongside her and Dr. Andrew.

Dr. Jenn is a Southern California native who grew up spending summers and holidays in the Bay Area. She attended UC Berkeley with the intent to go to medical school, but shadowing Dr. Gail and her colleagues helped her to see how dentistry combines art and science to transform people’s smiles. Dr. Jenn obtained her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She completed a General Practice Residency at Community Regional Medical Center and the VA Medical Center in Fresno, CA and has been providing care to underserved communities in the Central Valley since 2014.

Dr. Jenn believes in providing quality, and compassionate dental care to patients of all ages. She is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, walking her dogs, and visiting Dr. Andrew’s island in Animal Crossing.
